How to Create Your First Event Type

Step-by-step guide to creating and configuring your first event type in Calimatic Scheduler.

Creating Your First Event Type

Getting started with Calimatic Scheduler is easy. An event type is a template for the meetings people can book with you — for example, a 30-minute consultation or a 60-minute strategy session.

Step 1: Navigate to Event Types

From your dashboard, click Event Types in the left sidebar, then click the New Event Type button in the top-right corner.

Step 2: Choose a Category

Select the kind of event you want to create:

  • One-on-One — A private meeting between you and one attendee.
  • Group — An event that multiple attendees can book into the same time slot.
  • Round Robin — Automatically rotate bookings among team members.
  • Collective — Require all selected team members to be available.

For your first event, One-on-One is the easiest starting point.

Step 3: Fill in the Details

  • Title — Give your event a clear name (e.g., "30-Minute Meeting").
  • Slug — This becomes part of your booking URL. It auto-generates from the title.
  • Duration — Set how long the meeting lasts (15, 30, 45, or 60 minutes are common).
  • Location — Choose how the meeting happens: Google Meet, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, phone, or in-person.

Step 4: Configure Availability

By default, your event uses your primary availability schedule. You can create additional schedules under Settings > Availability if you need different hours for different event types.

Step 5: Save and Share

Click Save to create your event type. You can now share the booking link from your public page at /your-username, or copy the direct link from the event type card.

Tips

  • Use buffer time between meetings to avoid back-to-back calls.
  • Set a minimum notice period so people can't book at the last minute.
  • Add custom questions to collect information before the meeting.
