Working with Timezones
Understand how timezone handling works for you and your attendees.
Working with Timezones
Calimatic Scheduler handles timezones automatically so you and your attendees always see the correct times.
Your Timezone
Your timezone is set in Settings > Profile. This is the timezone used for:
- Displaying your availability schedule.
- Showing booking times in your dashboard.
- Email notifications and reminders.
Attendee Timezone
When an attendee visits your booking page, the system:
- Detects their browser's timezone automatically.
- Displays your available slots in their local time.
- Stores the booking in UTC internally.
- Shows each party the time in their own timezone.
How It Works
If you're in New York (EST) and your attendee is in London (GMT):
- Your availability shows 9 AM – 5 PM EST.
- They see 2 PM – 10 PM GMT.
- When they book "3 PM GMT," you see it as "10 AM EST."
Common Issues
"My availability looks wrong"
- Check your timezone in Settings > Profile. If it's set to the wrong zone, all times will be offset.
"Attendee says the time was wrong"
- Ask what timezone they expected. Calimatic uses the browser's timezone, which can be wrong if they're using a VPN or have their OS timezone misconfigured.
"Daylight saving time issues"
- Calimatic handles DST transitions automatically. Bookings around DST changes might shift by an hour — this is normal and correct.
Tips
- Always set your timezone accurately in your profile.
- If you work with international clients, mention your timezone in your bio.
- Use Calimatic's timezone display on the booking page to reassure attendees.
